Zoe Flynn’s sister, Lucy, is dead. The police call
it suicide. They have evidence-Lucy’s house locked up tight from the inside,
her body in a tub of water with slashed wrists and a scalpel nearby and the
M.E.’s conclusion that the wounds were self-inflicted. But Zoe doesn’t buy it.
She knows it was murder and she has evidence of her own-her sister’s ghost
appeared during her bath and whispered Zoe’s name in a very creepy fashion. Zoe
refuses to accept the police’s conclusion and undertakes an investigation to
prove her sister’s murder.
Zoe delves into her sister’s life and discovers that
Lucy might have been into some very dark things. Black magic. Voodoo. After a
very strange visit from a couple of FBI agents she pushes the police and they
upgrade her sister’s case to a murder investigation with Zoe as the prime
suspect. Her friend and mentor, Atlanta P.D. Detective Charlie Evans, tells her
she needs to back down, but Zoe, a former detective herself, has never been one
to back down. She keeps digging and uncovers a plot to destroy the world by a
group known as the Collective, and they want her body. Her dead body that is.
But Zoe does have help. A Half-Angel named Warden
who tells her he is her family’s guardian. Warden’s friend Geremial, an
extremely polite zombie. And her own dog Thorn, who turns out to be much more
than a dog. Together with these friends she must survive the attacks of the
Collective, escape capture and prevent their diabolical plan to plunge the
world into eternal darkness. Just another day at the office for Zoe Flynn,
Paranormal Investigator!
